Why you must break any bondage that is on you

Do you want to reach your full potential? Then you must break any bondage that is on you. Without breaking free of any bondages that are bounding you, it will be impossible for you to reach your full potential. The sole purpose of any bondage is to enslave you and keep you where you are. You cannot afford to remain bound.

Are you waiting for validation from others?

Do you think your self worth is rooted in how other people perceive you?

Do you strive to be a people pleaser?

Are you always looking for a way to fit in and belong?

Do you always do all to be part of the crowd?

Are you always looking for ways to maintain the statuesque?

Have you been told you are not good enough and will never amount to anything?

Have some people dared to say to you that you are a loser?

Do you depend on substances to feel loved, secured, and acceptable?

Are you a slave to drugs and external stimuli?

Then you may be in bondage, and now is the time to break free. Nobody is going to set you free. You must desire to be free and do all you can to be free. While this may sound like a cliche, it is not. If you don’t believe that you won your face race in life and that God created you and has uniquely gifted you to make a difference in this world, you will never be able to break free from whatever bondage is holding you back truly.

You may even say that you are free and that you have no bandage. This is the same attitude that Jesus Christ had to confront when he walked the dusty streets of the Holy Land. Some of the teachers of the law were claiming to be free, yet their actions portrayed a different picture.

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.  Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.  So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word.  I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.” John 8:34-38 NIV

Do you sin? All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We have all missed the mark one way or the other. If you want to be set free, you should ask for God’s forgiveness.

Today is the day for you to get your freedom. He that the son of man sets free is free indeed. To reach your full potential, you must be set free from any bondage. Are you free? Have you been set free?
