Three reasons why counting your blessings works

Do you want to reach your full potential? Then you must count your blessings. There are many reasons why you must count your blessings often, but let us take a look at the following three.

1) You develop a heart of gratitude. Then you count your blessings; you develop a heart of gratitude because it will occur to you immediately that you have something to be thankful for. What a heart of gratitude does for you in that no matter what you have been or is going through you will maintain hope. Consider what this verse says,

”In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

2) You make the most with what you are already having. How will you know what you have when you don’t take the time to count your blessings? Many are unhappy, full of envy, and jealousy because they think other people are better than them or have more than they do. Instead of focusing on what others have, you must focus on what you are already having. If you don’t focus on what you are already having and use it, the is what will happen to you:

For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Matthew 13:12

3) You will be humble. When you count your blessings, it will dawn to you that you are a recipient of what you have.

“For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4:7

This is not saying that hard work does not pay or that we should not work hard. But when you are tempted to puff up, remember who gave you the power to succeed.

“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18

Counting your blessings is a must for anybody who wants to reach their full potential. Will you do that daily?

The IEM APPROACH is a holistic way of life; the physical and spiritual must be in synergy for real, lasting, and sustainable success.
