How to remove the barriers in your life

There is great potential in you already, and formidable barriers in your life as well. While the obstacles appear to be against you, it impossible to turn them into your “friends.” You can turn to negative into positive by adopting the right mindset.

Here is how you set the barriers into your life into launchpads to the next step. You will always have barriers in your life because it is a fact of life that those who get strong have to overcome opposition; champions must win battles.

Therefore, you must consider barriers to be opportunities for growth and horning of your skills. No matter what it takes, make up your mind to either climb over the barrier, get around it, go through it, or obliterate the barrier from your path.

In the process of removing the barrier you will benefit one way or the other. It is going to involve taking some risk, but the risk of not doing anything is higher and most costly. You may have to go against conventional wisdom and challenge the status quo. Do whatever you must do to remove the barrier. Don’t be a people pleaser and refrain from anting everybody to like and accept you.

What matters is for you to keep moving towards your destination. People will always say something, no matter what you do. They are those who will assume that you are running too fast or too slow even though they do not know when you started, how far you have been running, and where you are going.

Why would you let the opinions of others determine the outcome of your life? The dream that you are pursuing was given to you and not to your critics or those who are trying to stop you. Why do you expect them to understand when they are not the wants carrying the burden?

Stop trying to fit in. It is time to rise and do what the majority of people are not willing to do so that you will have what they cannot have.

You must change your perspective about any barrier that is in your life by looking at it as an opportunity to grow and win.

You will always have those people in your life who will look down on your dreams and try to talk you out of them. When they see that you are not deterred, they may even try to get rid of you physically. Don’t let them have the final say. You will be not giving up!

When the going gets tough, you must keep going, because quitters never win and winners never quit.

I remember when I just arrived in the US for graduate school and attended my first remote sensing lab secession. The teaching assistant instructed us to open excel, import some files manipulated them. Then she went ahead and told us to export the data into a folder, save it and open Envi, import the files, and run the program. After analyzing the data, we were expected to export the images into canvas, scale them, and export the images into a fold. Then we had to import the images into a word document and write a report.

I got lost because my computer knowledge was almost zero. It was so bad that I did not know what a folder was. I was utterly clueless about what to do. Frustration is not the right word to describe how I felt. A part of me wanted to give up and drop out of school. But I chose to face this barrier head-on. The next couple of days, weeks, months, and years were tough, but I toughened up and learned how to use computers.

What is stopping you? What are you going to do about it? Will you let it stop you? You have four options.

Give up.

Go around the barrier.

Climb over the barrier.

Circumvent the barrier.

The first option is not an opposition; it is a death warrant. Focus on the last three options, and you will be unstoppable.
