Most people were raised to believe that they go to school, get a good education, and get a good job, and that will guarantee a successful life. This formula works to a certain extent, but to excel, one needs more than a job, and the United States of America has lots of opportunities to start and own a small business.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is a good place to start.120 It is an official United States Government agency and has a lot of information and support for small business owners and would-be owners. This chapter should have been the first, but it is at the end of the book for a reason. You will need all the other strategies discussed prior to this chapter to be a successful business owner.
It takes somebody who has a clear picture of who they are, what they want, and where they are going to start and run a successful business.
